WHEN SHOULD I EXPECT TO SEE RESULTS?
You will notice changes sooner than you might expect. Most students resport feeling more confident and capable within the first few weeks, with improvements in focus and emotional regulation often even before the physical changes. In terms of technique and physical fitness, you will see measurabe progress within the first 2-3 months of consistant training. However Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a journey and not a destination, the beauty of our art is taht you’ll continue discovering new layers of growth, both on and off the mat, for years to come.

WHAT MAKES JOAO CRUS BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU DIFFERENT FROM OTHER GYMS NEAR ME?
Most martial arts schools focus primarily on physical techniques and competition. We take a relational and psychological approach first, physical second. Our program uses Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as a tool to develop emotional regulation, confidence, and healthy boundary-setting. DO I NEED TO BE FIT TO JOIN?
No, you don’t need to be fit to start Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at our studio. Our program is designed to meet you wherever you are in your fitness journey. Many of our students begin with little to no athletic backgtound and discover that BJJ itself becomes the path to improved fitness, strenght, and flexibility. Because our approach emphasizes technique, body awareness, and emotional regulation over pure athleticism, student of all fitness levels can participate meaningfully from day one. You will progress at your own pace in a supportive environment, where the focus is on personal growth rather comparison to others.
HOW MANY DAYS PER WEEK SHOULD I ATTEND?
For begginers, we recommend starting with 2-3 classes per week. This frequency alows you to see consistent progress while giving your body time to adapt to the physical demands of training.
It’s normal to feel sore as you begin, so build in recovery time between sessions during your first few weeks. As your body adjusts and you become more comfortable with the movements, you can gradually increase to 3-4 times per week for optimal results. The key is connsistency, regular attendance at a sustainable pace will serve you better than sporadic intense training.
